Boston Celtics superstar trade target #1: Bradley Beal

The St. Louis connection between Bradley Beal and Jayson Tatum will forever link the pair…at least until Beal is traded out of Washington.

The Wizards star has wavered back and forth between wanting out and wanting to win with the only team he has ever known. Boston represents a realistic option, especially considering the lack of an established floor general in the Cs backcourt. Beal had different issues with both Russell Westbrook and John Wall, but may not have those same problems in Beantown playing with a close friend who has made a deep postseason run.

Washington just dealt Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers for cheap, so perhaps Beal could be reasonably gettable if the Wizards don’t play hard-ball in negotiations.

Boston Celtics superstar trade target #2: Damian Lillard

No disrespect to Norm Powell, but handing him $90 million and tying up the team’s future cap flexibility could have been the final nail in the coffin of the chances Damian Lillard finishes his career where it started for Portland.

Lillard got a taste of the conference finals two seasons ago but has been bounced in the first round of the playoffs the past two postseasons. It wouldn’t be shocking to see him force a deal, and the Cs could now offer the Trail Blazers long-term pieces to build around C.J. McCollum…or whoever else they end up with.
