Potential Boston Celtics Summer League title game star #3: Romeo Langford

Romeo Langford has been far more successful in his second Summer League than he was during his rookie year. Carsen Edwards became the breakout star two years ago, but Langford is looking like the best 2019 draft pick this time around.

Langford has figured out his shot this August, shooting 44% from the field and 38.5% from the 3-point line. He has also been filling the highlight reel with thunderous jams at the rim, flashing athleticism and bounce that could help the second unit get off to the races in 2021-22.

As the senior member (along with Edwards) of the Summer League Cs, Langford enters this game with the most experience, though not necessarily the best chance of stealing the show.

Unless he can be as aggressive tonight as he was on Saturday. Despite shooting 5-12, Langford got involved in a big way and wasn’t afraid of getting physical. He ended up with 13 points and three rebounds in a blowout.

He could be called upon to do more tonight assuming it is a closer game. After an unfulfilling first two years filled with injury woes and underperformances, tonight could be the redeeming performances Langford needs before joining a crowded wing rotation moving forward.
