Veteran target for the Boston Celtics No. 4) Paul Millsap

Just last offseason, Paul Millsap and the Boston Celtics found themselves holding a mutual interest with one another, thus giving the forward some ties to the franchise already. Ultimately, however, the veteran big man opted to re-up with the Denver Nuggets but did reportedly come close to striking a deal with the Cs.

Now, still unsigned after two weeks of free agency, with their close encounter from the past coupled with the fact that the Nuggets already have their future at the four in Michael Porter Jr., perhaps the concept of a union between Millsap and Boston could finally happen this summer.

Already making it clear that Stevens wants to continue adding veterans to the team, the thought of the 15-year forward who has seen four All-Star games played and eight deep postseason runs coming to town may be a rather intriguing idea to consider.

A legitimate stretch four — something the Cs could actually use behind Tatum at the position — the 36-year-old quietly proved that he can still be an impactful presence for a playoff team, averaging nine points and grabbing about five boards in 56 games played while shooting 48 percent from the floor in 20.8 minutes of action.

His well-documented history of success in the league coupled with his low-cost asking price and previous interest in joining the team just one offseason ago would suggest that Paul Millsap coming to Boston seems to be rather realistic, and one that could prove to be in Stevens’ best interest.
