Tacko Fall joins the young Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves have a nice thing going with Jarred Vanderbilt and Karl-Anthony Towns in the frontcourt, but Vanderbilt isn’t yet locked up long-term and could be signed away with an offer sheet to lucrative for the Wolves front office’s tastes.

Enter Boston Celtics seven-foot-five Senegalese super-giant, Tacko Fall. Fall is truly a project that still needs time even after two years, but he can get a lot more reps to develop with the Timberwolves next season than in Beantown.

Naz Reid has a non-guaranteed deal and could be cut with little consequence. Other than him, Minnesota is short on talent in their frontcourt.

Fall would be an exciting addition to a team that is on the way up. It doesn’t hurt to get a guy who inspires interest, even if it is niche interest having more to do with his size than his game. He could block shots at the rim and rebound well, easing Towns’ workload and enabling him to step out beyond the arc.

With Anthony Edwards in tow, and Towns having long been the Twin Cities’ centerpiece, Fall would complement that core well.
