Boston Celtics: 2 lottery-pick free agents Cs should consider signing

The 2021 NBA free agency period is already making its way through week number two but, for fans of the Boston Celtics, perhaps this may come as a surprise due to the front office’s lack of transactions.

Starting off the summer hot with the trade that swapped out the injury-riddled Kemba Walker for veteran big Al Horford and then the deal that brought Josh Richardson over from the Dallas Mavericks, many were growing comfortable with the moves being made by rookie President of Basketball Operations, Brad Stevens.

And then, seemingly as soon as the page flipped to August on the calendar, the activity came to a halt.

Now yes, the Cs have, in fact, taken part in free agency activities, what with the signing of former Celtic, Enes Kanter, but, for the most part, they’ve remained rather quiet.

While we at the Houdini are under the impression that the franchise has had a few mishaps during their first week of action, the time period in which teams can sign players on the open market last for quite some time, meaning Boston still has a chance to nab a few available talents moving forward.

Obviously, due to their grossly inflated payroll, the shamrocks were never viewed as a legitimate threat to ink the top-billed names found in this year’s free agency class. That said, even with this, there are still some players that could be signed at a relatively low price that could prove to be of some service to the team this coming season.
