Boston Celtics potential 2021 Summer League surprise in 2021-22: Sam Hauser

While Sam Hauser wasn’t overly impressive in his pro debut in Las Vegas on Sunday, there is still hope he can slide in as an ideal role player alongside the Jays as they continue to ascend in the Eastern Conference.

As a four-year collegiate athlete splitting time between Marquette (3 years) and Virginia this past season, Hauser was a deadeye shooter who routinely blew past the 40% 3-point benchmark. He fell just shy of a 50/40/90 season last year in Charlottesville with the Cavaliers, shooting 89.6% from the free-throw line.

Hauser has Joe Harris potential as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia that made the All ACC First Team. He shot just 2/7 yesterday, but if the same sort of patience Harris was shown can be exhibited by Brad Stevens, a potential gem could be had in the form of the two-way Cs sniper.

Hauser will be a Maine Celtic primarily during the upcoming 2021-22 season, but he could be a surprising fill-in on nights the team is short-handed during Ime Udoka’s first year in Boston.

Brad Stevens didn't deviate from Danny Ainge's strategy. dark. Next
