Boston Celtics fans have been dreaming of Bradley Beal for what seems like forever. His friendship with Jayson Tatum has sparked many rumors in the past.

This offseason has been a particularly fun one considering the rumors that he was considering requesting a trade. His short time playing on Team USA with Tatum only fueled those reports.

However, it was later reported that Beal wants to stay in Washington and that the Wizards traded Russell Westbrook in hopes of forming a better team around Beal.

This supposedly killed any chance of Boston trading for Beal this summer. At least, that’s what most people thought, until now.

Why Boston Celtics could trade for Beal No. 1) Wiz could easily hit reset button

The Washington Wizards are positioned to be a fairly competitive team, and would still be a decent squad without Beal. They obviously wouldn’t be as good, but they wouldn’t be the worst team in the NBA.

Spencer Dinwiddie is reportedly signing there, and they have made some great moves so far. They added Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell, Aaron Holiday, and Corey Kispert on draft night.

While that is clearly not a championship-caliber team, it does put them in a solid position to rebuild. They could stay competitive while also hitting the reset button.

Trading Beal would allow Washington to get a ton of young assets and draft capital back from the Boston Celtics. It could be their best path forward considering he may leave for nothing next summer, anyways.

If the choice is to trade him now or risk losing him next offseason, Washington should definitely trade him now.

That’s not even a debate.
