High-quality, low-cost target for the Boston Celtics No. 2) Patty Mills

Seemingly since it was made official that Ime Udoka would be signing on with the Boston Celtics to serve as their next head coach, rumors surfaced suggesting that Patty Mills could be a top-target for the team in free agency.

Over the month or so that Udoka’s been with the team, these rumblings have not died down and, in fact, have only managed to pick up steam, with reports coming out stating that he’s close to the top of the front office’s free agent target short-list.

The 12-year veteran would be a solid presence at the lackluster point guard position while his impressive postseason resume would be a stellar attribute to have on this talented yet young Celtics core.

This past season, the 32-year-old posted solid per-game averages of 10.8 points and 2.4 assists on 41 percent shooting from the floor and 37.5 percent shooting from deep.

Though by no means on the same par as other free agent floor generals, his addition to the rotation in a reserve role would not only help improve upon their bench scoring unit but also help the rest of the team buy into the new system Udoka will be looking to put into place as he looks to be yet another success story that has branched off from the Popovich tree.
