Ideal Bradley Beal trade package for the Philadelphia 76ers
Once again, it is very unlikely the 76ers, along with the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat, would be willing to include their best young star player — in Philadelphia’s case, Ben Simmons — and would prefer to have a Big-3.
From Philly’s perspective, this deal makes sense considering they feel they are very close to winning a title as they finished as the one seed in the Eastern Conference last season.
Tobias Harris would be necessary to include to match salaries if Ben Simmons isn’t included, which should be fine with Philadelphia as Beal would essentially replace Harris’s offensive production.
From the perspective of the Wizards, Tyrese Maxey, Thybulle, and Milton are all good young players who have shown flashes of being significant pieces, so they would be valuable long term.
Jaden Springer is a solid young prospect who fell slightly in the draft, giving him solid value in a trade.
To make salaries match better, the 76ers could also take on the overpaid Davis Bertans and his four year contract in exchange for George Hill’s expiring deal, which would probably entice the Wizards as well.
Comparing this deal to the other deals mentioned, Philadelphia’s starting offer is probably slightly better than Boston’s and Miami’s, but worse than Golden State’s starting deal.
However, as mentioned with the other teams, the 76ers are pretty desperate to win now, so they would most likely be willing to include even more.
On top of that, the 76ers may also be willing to part with Ben Simmons given his playoff struggles, which would top any other deal the other three teams would most likely be willing to offer.
All in all, while the 76ers starting offer isn’t as good as the Warriors, they would most likely have the best final offer if they were willing to include Ben Simmons which would put them in the running for the best trade package for the wing right alongside the Warriors.
Looking at the whole situation from the perspective of the Boston Celtics, it seems like the other three teams from this list have better potential trade packages than them, so unless Beal says he specifically wants to go to the Cs they are better off trying to sign Beal in free agency if they want him that badly, and should pivot to other targets this offseason.
