Ideal Bradley Beal trade package for the Miami Heat

Similar to the Boston Celtics with Brown, the Miami Heat would not want to include Bam Adebayo in any trade for Beal, so they’d have to give at least a couple young players and picks to Washington for them to consider it.

From the Heat’s perspective, their best player in Jimmy Butler is getting up there in age, so they are much more in win-now mode than the Celtics are.

Considering that, Miami should be much more willing part with a lot of players and picks in order to form a Big-3 of their own.

From the perspective of the Wizards, this deal makes sense if they believe Tyler Herro’s rookie season was more who he is as a player than this past year, and they also get two other good young players along with the picks.

Comparing this deal to the one with the Boston Celtics, the young players are definitely more enticing, as both Nunn and Herro have shown signs of being very good players when given the chance, while Langford, Nesmith, and Edwards just haven’t really had enough of a chance to show what they can do.

Achiuwa also has decent potential, however, he is somewhat similar to Langford and Nesmith, showing flashes of potential but in limited playing time.

Looking at the one veteran in the deal, Iguodala has nowhere near the value of Smart, so it is unlikely they could get any first-round picks for him unless he plays surprisingly well for a lottery team.

Also, the Cs can offer more draft picks than the Heat, as Miami’s next first-round pick is in 2024, while the Celtics have first-round picks in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

All in all, when comparing these two deals specifically, Boston has the slightly better offer.

However, the Heat have much more roster flexibility in terms of matching Beal’s salary and are also more desperate to win now given Jimmy Butler’s age, so it is very likely that the best deal the Heat would be willing to offer for Beal is better than what the Cs would be willing to offer.

Along with the previous players mentioned, the Heat may also be willing to offer Duncan Robinson, another young sign-and-trade candidate who is one of the best shooters in the entire league, and may also be willing to offer a more valuable veteran player in Goran Dragic.

Essentially, while the Heat’s starting offer for Beal is probably worse than what Brad Stevens would offer to start off negotiations, their final offer is most likely better than Boston’s final offer.
