Player #2 Boston Celtics could trade for: Kevin Love

Evan Mobley’s arrival in the Land could signal the end of 2016 NBA Champion Kevin Love’s time with the Cleveland Cavaliers. That would make the reunion with Ricky Rubio a short one, but as he ages, it’s going to be difficult keeping him on the floor with the new types of 4s that fill the NBA.

Adrian Wojnarowski’s reaction to the pick painted a clear picture of what the future could look like in Cleveland.

Notice who was omitted:

Jarrett Allen was acquired at last year’s trade deadline, and his own arrival spelt the end of Andre Drummond’s time with the team. With Woj reporting an interest in Cleveland pairing the two young bigs in the same frontcourt, Love would be relegated to the bench.

Of course, that’s something that only happens in the Olympics. Someone of Love’s caliber has value in a starting lineup elsewhere.

Like perhaps Boston. The Cs could offer a package starting with the expiring deals of Marcus Smart and Tristan Thompson or use Al Horford’s recently acquired deal as collateral.
