#1 best Ricky Rubio destination: Los Angeles Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers could make too much sense for Ricky Rubio if several things happen.
The first would be Reggie Jackson finding a more lucrative deal elsewhere. Jackson proved to be a legitimate #2 option for the Clippers in their 2021 postseason run, one that didn’t include Kawhi Leonard. He could have teams willing to dip into the $10-12 million range to make him their starting floor general. What a comeback that would be from being relegated to the bench for Pat Beverley after signing a minimum deal. The former infamous Detroit Piston would have fully earned it.
The second would be if the Timberwolves had any interest in the contracts of Marcus Morris or Luke Kennard. For L.A., Kennard would be much more preferable to part with. Morris would add veteran savvy to a young but promising Minnesota squad.
In fact, both scenarios could exist. Jackson could be brought back for the MLE and Rubio can be acquired in a deal for the aforementioned duo. The Wolves hold all of the bargaining chips here, so we’ll see how they weild their Olympic stud on the trade market.
