Boston Celtics rookie option: Austin Reaves

Austin Reaves, a member of the Oklahoma Sooners of the

Big 12

SEC, had a breakout senior campaign, contributing from all over the floor.

That said, he wasn’t all that efficient in key areas the Cs would be looking for. Aaron Nesmith showed an ability to be all over the floor down the stretch run of the 2020-21 season, so adding a possible project–who Buckley points out has flash in the pan potential–may not be a move that puts Ime Udoka in a position to win.

Boston Celtics veteran option: Reggie Bullock

Reggie Bullock has been linked to the Cs by NBC Sports, but his free agency might be up to the New York Knicks and what they are willing to pay him.

They can easily price him out of Boston’s market (limited cap space means only the MLE to offer) and are the only team he has been able to become a starter on while shooting above 40% from the 3-point line on high volume.

There’s a slim chance he ends up wearing green considering the potential of Stevens re-signing Evan Fournier, but as far as a shooter on the wings, Bullock is a far superior option to Reaves.
