Boston Celtics point guard options: Patty Mills & Raul Neto

Patty Mills is a name that has been thrown around in recent weeks. His shooting would help space the floor super well for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

While Fournier and Pritchard have both established themselves as solid shooters, Smart and Langford struggle from behind the 3-point line. Mills would provide an infusion of shooting to a guard rotation that needs it.

In addition, he has a connection with the new Boston Celtics head coach. Mills played for the Spurs for Udoka’s entire coaching tenure in San Antonio.

Mills is a veteran who would also be a great presence in the locker room. His BORD$ rating is around $7 million, but the Cs could probably whittle that down a bit.

Raul Neto is a very underrated option the Boston Celtics could bring in. He’s not the first name most people think of, but he certainly makes an impact when he gets the chance to play.

He played a fairly large role for the Wizards last year. Neto averaged 8.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting 46.8% from the field and 39% from deep.

At 29 years old, he would be able to provide quality minutes when needed, but also wouldn’t take away too much playing time from Pritchard.

Neto’s BORD$ rating is around $6 million. Similar to Mills, though, the Boston Celtics could probably sign him for a bit cheaper if the fit was right.
