Non-star target for the Boston Celtics No. 2) Larry Nance Jr.

As we mentioned in the previous slide, the Boston Celtics still have $11.5 million remaining from the Hayward TPE, which, should it go unused past August, it will ultimately expire.

By all means the Cs should utilize this luxury, and we strongly believe that a guy like Justin Holiday would be a fine person to use it on.

However, if there are tiers pertaining to TPE targets, the veteran wing would reside soundly in level two, whereas level one would have someone like Larry Nance Jr.

Viewed by some of us here at HH as ‘the ideal power forward’ for this currently constructed Celtics squad, the 28-year-old is a player that we have discussed as a potential trade target for quite some time now and, as far as non-stars go, Nance seems to be one of the best options for this team.

One of the better 3-and-D fours (also a position in need of bolstering) in the game today, the veteran posted solid averages of 9.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.5 steals, and half a block per game on 47 percent shooting from the floor and 36 percent shooting from deep in 2020-21.

Fitting the timeline of both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown rather perfectly, the big man would be a blessing as a defensive presence, a sound floor spacer, a frontcourt facilitator, and as a mere veteran leader for this Celtics team that’s looking to get back into a competitive stratosphere next season.
