This offseason should prove to be quite an important one for the Boston Celtics heading into 2021-22 and beyond.

After enduring their worst regular season (based on win percentage) since 2014-15 and their first Quarterfinals loss since 2015-16, the once-glamorous Cs have fallen mightily towards the gutters of mediocrity, and this summer could provide Boston the means necessary for the team to work their way back up towards the upper echelon of the NBA’s elite.

Though they kicked things off in a rather noteworthy manner, what with their decision to replace Danny Ainge (who resigned within 24-hours after Beantown’s round-one defeat) as President of Basketball Operations with Brad Stevens and the trade that sent Kemba Walker to Oklahoma City, from here on out, in all likelihood, any following moves will be a bit quieter on the news circuits.

Unless they pursue another trade, the only other moves the Boston Celtics will be able to make in order to bring on a somewhat impactful player heading into next year will be via the free agency market where, unfortunately, they’ll have minimal spending power and, in turn, will have to scour for bargain-bin names to try and sign.

Though there may not be much buzz pertaining to the depth of this year’s free agency class, there will certainly be quite a few players available who may be willing to sign a deal for less money should it mean a better chance at attaining that highly-coveted championship ring.

Even with the fact that the Boston Celtics finished with a mere .500 record and lasted no longer than five games in this year’s playoffs, 2021-22 is a brand new beast; one in which they’ll once again be looking to contend as they have for the better part of the last five years.

Though perhaps not viewed as one of the favorites to take home next year’s Larry O’Brien trophy, with a few savvy moves they could easily thrust themselves back into the title contention conversation and, with this, we believe there could be 2 ring-chasers, in specific, that could be enticed to sign in Boston:
