Jaylen Brown’s name is going to appear in a ton of trade rumors this offseason because, in essence, he is the Boston Celtics’ big ticket to landing a bigger name to pair with Jayson Tatum in pursuit of banner #18.

Does that mean he will be dealt? Who knows. The likes of Bradley Beal, Damian Lillard, and Karl-Anthony Towns could all be available in a deal, and if they are, Brown would have to be included in any hypothetical deal.

Just about every team in the association should have some level of interest in the first-time All-Star in 2021, and Beale St. Bears threw their hometown Memphis Grizzlies out as a potential landing spot.

As BSB’s Jack Williams sees it, Ja Morant would not be making his way to the Boston Celtics, but Jaren Jackson Jr. and draft capital would be:

"The issue that stands is the fact that Memphis would have to trade away a decent amount of draft capital to make this happen. The Grizzlies won’t trade Ja Morant, but the deal would likely have to involve Jaren Jackson Jr., a player who has been coming up in trade rumors for Memphis, and a first-round pick."

For the Cs, such a deal would be interesting on the surface due to Jackson Jr.’s small cap figure, but he will be due for a big extension next offseason. Brown is playing on great value right now after his deal seemed like an albatross initially.

Jackson Jr. is in a contract year and could be motivated to earn a big contract, but if he does, the Cs could end up armed with a big man who has already suffered a fairly major knee injury.

Perhaps if the deal could be expanded to include Dillon Brooks, it would be worth considering. For now, though, Brad Stevens oughta pass such an offer should it come across his desk.
