The Boston Celtics add a bucket off the bench, while the Indiana Pacers improve their center depth and get a bit younger.
TJ Warren is the perfect example of a player who would make a big-time impact in the scoring column. He would be the perfect player to lead the Boston Celtics’ second unit.
Though he was hurt for the majority of last season, he showed the ability to score in bunches in years past. The first thing most people remember about him is how well he played in The Bubble.
During the 2019-20 season, he averaged 19.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. Warren shot 53.6% from the field and 40.3% from three-point range.
His scoring would greatly improve the bench in Boston. Plus, he could spend some time playing with the starters, too, if need be.
The Boston Celtics have had one of the worst benches in terms of scoring over the past two years. This move would certainly help fix that.
As for the Pacers, this move would see them add depth, while also getting a little younger. Tristan Thompson could play backup center, or replace Myles Turner if they trade him, and Romeo Langford gives them an extra young piece to work with.
Langford is from the state and went to school there. The move makes a ton of sense from that perspective at the very least.
Warren would bring a much-needed infusion of scoring to the bench in Boston. This is definitely a move to consider this offseason.
