The Boston Celtics do not have a lot of wiggle room this offseason. If re-signing Evan Fournier is priority number one, then they’ll be left with little money to sign free agents.

Using the MLE can help them add a decent player, but it likely won’t cover the cost of someone that can make a big-time impact. Due to this, the trade market could be the best way to add talent.

They still have a bunch of TPEs they need to use, as well as a plethora of young assets to work with. Bringing in a quality sixth man could be the best course of action.

The starting lineup for the Boston Celtics is fairly set. If they manage to bring back Fournier, they will likely roll out a starting five of Marcus Smart, Fournier, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and one of their big men.

While the bench would be filled with solid young talent, there would be no one to spearhead that second unit. The Boston Celtics could use a genuine leader to come off the bench.

It doesn’t necessarily matter what position the player plays, as long as he is capable of leading the second unit. Someone who can put up around 10+ points off the bench would be ideal.

Having quality depth has become increasingly more important in recent years. Just look at the two teams in the Finals right now. Both have solid benches.

With all this in mind, what players could the Boston Celtics trade for to bring in a good sixth man? Who’s going to be available for trade this offseason?
