Boston Celtics trade target No. 3) Malcolm Brogdon

Shocked to see the likes of Malcolm Brogdon on this list of players we’d be willing to part with Marcus Smart for?

You shouldn’t be!

For the past several weeks we have been discussing the concept of the Boston Celtics trading for the Pacers point guard, and these talks have been welcomed with open arms by Cs fans, for Brogdon is perceived by many as the “perfect fit” to play the one for this current team.

Rumored to have been shopped recently by Indiana, it’s apparent that the franchise is open to the idea of moving on from their floor general, and Brad Stevens should be very interested in pursuing him.

Since signing his 4-year, $85 million deal with the franchise two summers ago, Malcolm Brogdon has posted impressive averages of 18.9 points, 6.5 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game on 45 percent shooting from the floor and 36 percent shooting from deep.

In the event that they wind up parting ways with Smart, the Celtics wind up losing a lot more than just a simple player — they lose a guy whose impact on the court is far beyond just one metric.

Because of this, it would likely prove to be beneficial for the Cs to look to add on a player who can score just as easily as he can defend, distribute as effectively as he can rebound.

Malcolm Brogdon is that type of player and should be a talent that Boston is willing to swap Smart for.
