The NBA season is finally wrapping up as we approach a new NBA champion being crowned. With the Boston Celtics being firmly out of the title picture since the beginning of the season, fans have been looking towards the offseason and free agency.

We are wrapping up the Boston Celtics “pick a player” and ideal free agency targets series with the final division from the Western Conference: the Southwest division.

The Southwest division had a major shakeup this season as one of the division’s biggest stars, James Harden, departed at the beginning of the season.

The division is now full of young stars such as Luka Dončić, Ja Morant, Zion Williamson, Christian Wood, and Dejounte Murray who will lead their respective teams into the future.

While these players won’t be making an appearance on this list, there are several key teammates that will appear here.

Not all of these players will be superstars or even star-level players, but each and every one of them would have a great impact on this new-look Celtics team in the post-Kemba Walker era.

Players are on here for several different reasons whether that be their age, skill level, or their fit with the current roster.

This list is not a list of players that I think the Boston Celtics will pursue. Instead, it’s a list of players that I think they should pursue.

Some players may be restricted free agents — we are going to ignore the fact that the team they’re on will most likely re-sign them for simplicity purposes.

These players are free agents in the upcoming 2021 class for the Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies, and Dallas Mavericks:
