Boston Celtics land Domantis Sabonis for Marcus Smart, Robert Williams, Romeo Langford , and a 2022 first round pick

Most people don’t think of Domantas Sabonis when they think of a superstar. Despite this, he’s one of the best big men in the entire NBA.

Last season, Sabonis averaged 20.3 points, 12 rebounds, and 6.7 assists. He shot 53.5% from the field and 32.1% from 3-point range.

Though he has mainly played the power forward position, he would thrive as the starting center on a good team. The biggest concern in Indiana has always been his ability to play in tandem with Myles Turner.

Sabonis is six-foot-11, so he’s easily tall enough to play the five. In addition, he’s an elite rebounder and would be the perfect playmaker out of the post.

He’s already averaged nearly seven assists in a single season. Imagine if he had Tatum and Brown to pass to on the wings.

At only 25-years-old, the Celtics would be getting their starting big man for the future. He would instantly make them one of the best teams in the East.

On top of that, he’s on a relatively cheap deal. He’s under contract for three more seasons for $18.5, $19.9, and $21.3 million.

For an All-Star quality player, that’s chump change. This would set the Boston Celtics up perfectly to build an amazing team around their new big three.
