Celtics add point guard, Clippers get center insurance

This idea comes in part from Sam LaFrance of the From the Rafters podcast. The idea was brought up in a recent episode.

A ton of Boston Celtics fans would love to see Rajon Rondo back in a Boston Celtics uniform.

Two returns in one season? What a sight that would be.

Rondo would be an ideal backup point guard behind Smart. His veteran presence is something the shamrocks desperately need on their roster.

His playmaking fits in well since the Boston Celtics seriously lack that skillset on their team right now.

Plus, he could help mentor Pritchard as he grows into a quality NBA point guard.

Yogi Ferrell would be a decent addition as well. As mentioned, the Cs are lacking at the guard position, so adding even more depth would help.

For the Clippers, they would get another option at center behind Ivica Zubac. DeMarcus Cousins will be a free agent and Serge Ibaka has a player option.

Carsen Edwards would be included in order to match salaries. The extra pick provides a bit more incentive for the Clippers to take on Thompson’s contract.

Rondo hasn’t gotten much playing time for the Clippers in the playoffs. He has only played in 16 of their games, averaging just under 17 minutes a game.

Adding Rondo would be the perfect pickup for Boston this offseason.

The only question mark is whether or not the Clippers would be willing to give him up.

Next. 2 potential trade targets Cs must avoid this offseason. dark
