Boston Celtics: 3 more Tristan Thompson trades to consider

Charlotte Hornets get a center, Boston Celtics clear up big man rotation
This trade doesn’t see a huge return come back for Thompson, but it is an easy way to get off of his contract. The Hornets desperately need a center, and Thompson can provide some short-term relief at that position.
Charlotte struggled to find big man minutes last season. Both Cody Zeller and Bismack Biyombo performed well below expectations.
Now, both of them are set to be free agents. With that in mind, they are the one team in the NBA who could be willing to take on Thompson’s contract.
He would give them solid minutes at that position while they search for a younger, long-term option.
That being said, they wouldn’t give up a ton of assets to get him.
The Boston Celtics would only get Jalen McDaniels and a second-round pick in this trade. While it doesn’t solve their issue at point guard, it does give them another decent wing.
McDaniels is a 6-9 forward who showed some real potential last season. After Gordon Hayward got injured, he started playing super well.
He averaged 10.5 points and 5.1 rebounds over that stretch and shot 47.8 percent from the field and 35.5 percent from 3-point range.
By doing this deal, the Celtics fix their log jam at center while also getting off of Thompson’s contract. A win-win for both sides, as the Hornets get their center for next season.
