Boston Celtics: 5 disgruntled young stars Cs could free in the future

The Utah Jazz are stuck in between what is referred to as “a rock and a hard place.”
After extending Rudy Gobert to one of the most significant contracts for a center in league history, the Jazz have put themselves in the playoff mix for the foreseeable future. That is not a bad thing, but that contract has also decreased their chances of adding a max star to their core, meaning all they can do is surround their stars with role players and hope they get a stroke of luck in the playoffs.
We’ve seen this for years now; the Jazz load up on shooting and passing and are a beautiful team to watch in the regular season, but when the postseason comes around, they fail miserably every time.
They are entirely too reliant on Gobert’s rim protection and don’t have the perimeter defenders to check high-level stars.
Additionally, their scoring is very inconsistent, most often relying on 3-pointers and pick and rolls.
They move the ball exceptionally well, but when those shots are not falling and Gobert is not aggressive, they struggle to manufacture offense.
Unfortunately, these challenges are unlikely to change, which means the Jazz are heading towards many more years of mediocrity.
Mitchell is very close with Boston Celtics star, Jaylen Brown, and his frustration with himself and the Jazz have been an ongoing problem.
He’s a competitor, and Mitchell wants to win. Sooner or later, he realizes he can’t do that in Utah.
That’s when Brown and Boston step in.
They will have to trade for him since he’s on Utah’s payroll through 2026. If the Celtics can accumulate enough draft capital and enough solid young pieces, they could pry Mitchell from Utah’s hands with ease if he puts Boston on his list, which he likely would.
