Boston Celtics: 6 draft prospects Cs should monitor closely

The NBA draft lottery just happened, and it was the first time the Boston Celtics had nothing on the line in a few years. In fact, the Cs don’t even have a first-round pick this season.

Ironically enough, this is considered to be one of the most stacked draft classes in recent history. With this, there could be some decent players available in the second round.

While Boston may not have a first-round pick, they still have the 45th overall selection in this year’s draft. There should still be some solid prospects for the taking at that spot.

Even though Brad Stevens wants to take the team in an older direction, the right rookie could still make a big impact. Combine that with the team’s limited cap flexibility and scouting becomes all the more important.

So, what position should the Celtics prioritize in the draft? Bolstering the guard rotation? More wing depth in case of a trade? Best available?

In reality, some depth at the guard position could be what’s best for Beantown this offseason. That being said, there are some other solid options that could be available at 45.

Most fans have heard the names such as Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley, but some of the other names have flown under the radar. It’s important to know the names within striking distance of the 45th pick.

Shooting with size has been a major priority for Stevens, and there could be some options that fit that bill. Whether that means a taller point guard or an athletic wing, all options must be explored.

Most major outlets put out scouting reports and mock drafts. Using that, it is easy to whittle down who some of the best options are for the Boston Celtics to select.
