Boston Celtics: 3 completely unexpected potential offseason trades
By Jack Simone
This is the type of deal that makes it obvious that the trades are unrealistic. The odds of Brad Stevens trading Jaylen Brown this offseason are extremely low.
With that being said, a trade to the Hawks would make a ton of sense. Atlanta has shown interest in Brown in the past and would have a ton of young assets to put together a deal.
The Hawks would form an elite dynamic duo with this move. Putting Brown next to Trae Young not only improves their defense but creates an amazing scoring duo to help compete right now, and in the future.
Payton Pritchard would simply act as their bench point guard. His playmaking and shooting would help take some of the stress off of Young.
For the Celtics, this move would shift all the focus onto Jayson Tatum. By trading Brown, the C’s would be investing in Tatum and the primary scorer and just trying to put as many complementary pieces around him as possible.
Bogdan Bogdanovic is the star of this trade package. The wing would most likely be a secondary or tertiary scorer on the C’s, providing Tatum with some relief in that regard.
His ability to both create shots and hit shots off the dribble makes him extremely valuable. He would step in and contribute immediately in Boston.
De’Andre Hunter was in the middle of a breakout season last year before he got injured. His defense and three-point shooting would look great next to Tatum.
Kevin Huerter gives the Celtics an elite three-point shooter that can be counted on to hit his shots. As for Reddish, he would be somewhat of a project but could blossom into a solid piece as well.
