This is one of the more unlikely trades to come up due to the wheel, but that’s the whole point, isn’t it?

The Bucks are trying to compete right away, so trading for younger players doesn’t make a ton of sense. However, it could make perfect sense if looked at from a different perspective.

Donte Divincenzo is due for a contract extension very soon. If the Bucks are unwilling to pay that extension, they could look to trade him for someone on contract for a bit longer (i.e. Aaron Nesmith).

Aaron Nesmith showed some solid two-way potential last season and could fill a similar role as Divencenzo did for the Bucks. As for Edwards, he would simply be a filler piece in this trade.

The second-round pick gives the Bucks a bit more draft capital after they dealt nearly all of theirs away last offseason. The Jrue Holiday trade cost them three first-round picks and two pick-swaps.

For the Celtics, they add a more experienced two-way player to their lineup. On top of that, they would be able to replace Marcus Smart’s production if they chose to trade him.

The deal is extremely unlikely, but given the team and the players, it would be the most likely trade package the C’s could get in return.
