Boston Celtics: Pros and cons of a Damian Lillard deal

It’s that time of year again, Boston Celtics.  It’s time to keep one eye on the rest of the NBA playoffs and one eye on the latest chatter regarding stars from recently eliminated playoff teams.  It never fails that the playoffs result in the frustrations of stars boiling to a point that trade demands become inevitable.

Today, NBA stars feel more pressure than ever before to make deep playoff runs and attain that ever-elusive championship ring due to the pressure imposed by the social media cesspool.  With the current landscape of the NBA and the limited number of years in a professional basketball career, the question is no longer if any NBA stars will demand trades from the current teams, but how many NBA stars will demand trades from their current teams.

This year appears to be no different.

One hot name that has been on my mind, and the mind of Boston Celtics fans everywhere is Damian Lillard.  An interesting social media reports and yet another early exit by his Blazers in the playoffs has raised the possibility that perhaps Lillard has grown tired of waiting on the Portland Trail Blazers to acquire a 2nd star and is ready to demand his way out of Portland to give himself a legitimate chance to advance to his first career NBA finals.

Damian Lillard may not even become available, but in the case, he does let’s look at whether a Lillard blockbuster would be a good move for Brad Stevens to make early in his front-office career:
