Though there are still a minimum of two games remaining in their best-of-seven first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets, the 2020-21 season appears to be just about over for the Boston Celtics.

Despite coming in with the fourth-best odds of hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy come year’s end, through a truncated 72 game regular season slate the shamrocks finished off with a measly .500 record of 36-36, finished with the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference standings and, now, appear to be on their way towards being ousted in a four-game sweep.

Disappointment doesn’t even begin to describe this season for the Cs, but, hopefully, this coming offseason will lead the team towards a brighter future.

All season long, it’s been evident that the way in which Boston is currently constructed has been a major catalyst in their demise. Despite the fact that they boast a roster consisting of two young All-Star wings in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, looking at the team’s surrounding pieces it’s evident that the talent pool is quite shallow.

With this, General Manager and President of Basketball Operations, Danny Ainge, went about and hinted that, this offseason, the C’s front office could look to make some tweaks to the team’s rotation.

Now, with the state of their salary-cap situation, it’s more than likely that, should they opt to make alterations to their roster, the trade route would be the more realistic way to go, for they currently can’t afford to be big players on the free agency market.

This summer, there could be several disgruntled stars who could be looking for greener pastures and, of this potential lot, we at the Houdini believe there are currently 2, in specific, that could be worth pursuing:
