Boston Celtics: “Pass or Pursue” on 2 recently proposed offseason trades

Despite having themselves an unbelievably disappointing 2020-21 campaign, the Boston Celtics still find themselves in the midst of yet another postseason run, making it their seventh straight.

Currently finding themselves down 2-0 in this best-of-seven first-round series against the star-studded Brooklyn Nets, many are under the impression that the Cs are bound for an early exit from this year’s postseason.

Frankly, based on how inconsistent they’ve been throughout the entirety of this campaign, how injury-riddled their roster is, and the simple fact that they are squaring off against arguably the greatest grouping of talent ever assembled on an NBA roster, it’s not shocking to see this being the consensus mindset amongst fans and analysts alike.

Because of this unfortunate reality, it’s more than likely that, once they embark on their offseason excursion, Danny Ainge and co. will look to make some tweaks to the team’s roster in an effort to better their chances of contention moving forward.

In fact, just recently the General Manager went on to list just himself, Brad Stevens, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown as the only guarentees to return for next season, thus leaving the door open for many possible offseason scenarios.

With this cryptic message, it has opened the flood gates for media outlets to push out content pertaining to potential trade scenarios that they believe could transpire this summer. Most recently, Bleacher Report writer, Gregg Swartz, pushed out two specific trade packages that involve the Boston Celtics parting with, and adding on some intruiguing assets.

With this, naturally we at HH got eager to put out another installment of one of our favorite series we like to call “Pass or Purse”, where we discuss concocted trades and determine whether it would be wise for the franchise to execute them or if they should simply stand pat.
