Boston Celtics target No. 5) Otto Porter Jr., Orlando Magic

Otto Porter Jr. is set to become a free agent and will most likely be joining his fourth team in four seasons.

He was traded to the Orlando Magic at the deadline in the trade that sent All-Star center, Nikola Vučević, to the Chicago Bulls.

Porter has failed to find a permanent home since coming into the league as a member of the Washington Wizards where he played for his first five and a half seasons.

When healthy, he’s played very well for the teams he’s been a part of. That’s the thing, though — there’s a huge emphasis on when he’s healthy.

Since 2017, Porter has been bitten hard and often by the injury bug. The last time he played close to a full season was back in 2017 when he played 77 games. In the past three seasons, he’s suffered injuries to his hip, leg, foot, knee, shoulder, ankle, and back.

Those are just the injuries we know of.

In total throughout this aforementioned time span, he’s missed 138 total games.

If — and that’s a big if — he can come back and stay healthy in 2021-22, he would be worth a cheap contract. When he has played, he’s been a very effective scorer whether in the starting lineup or coming off the bench.

At this point, he’ll probably be a bench player for the rest of his career so why not do it on a team that’s a consistent playoff participant and is a good bench piece away from being a legitimate title contender?
