Boston Celtics free-agent target No. 2) Danny Green

Despite having the likes of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Evan Fournier along with the last two No. 14 overall picks from the 2019 and 2020 NBA Drafts in Romeo Langford and Aaron Nesmith, respectively, only enough the wing position for the Boston Celtics is still rather shallow from a talent standpoint.

Scouring the open market for an established veteran at the position could be of great benefit to the shamrocks this offseason, and a guy like Danny Green could be viewed as an ideal target based on a multitude of factors.

For the second year in a row, the Cs went on to have one of the worst second-unit scoring punches in the entire league, ranking in at 28th in points-per-game with just 31.3 and attempted the fifth-fewest 3-point attempts a night.

Though not really known as an offensive spark plug per se, Green is a career nine point-per-game scorer who has managed to convert at a 40 percent clip throughout his 12-year career.

Even if he’s not one to constantly be looking to create for himself (though he has the skills to do so from time to time) his consistency from long range in catch-and-shoot scenarios would be a welcomed sight to see from this coy 3-point shooting Cs team.

Along with this, he’s widely respected as one of the better 3-and-D players currently in the association and, on the season, posted a defensive box plus-minus rating of 1.2 (would rank fourth on Boston) and holds 3.1 defensive win shares as well (more than all members of the Boston Celtics).

Above everything, however, the man is a 3x NBA Champion who has seen seven deep postseason runs in 11 total appearances and, in turn, would give the Boston Celtics that much-needed winners mentality that is seemingly lacking from their current crop.
