Boston Celtics free-agent target No. 1) Paul Millsap

Paul Millsap is a player we at the site have suggested should become a member of the Boston Celtics for a few years now and, last summer, we even deemed a potential acquisition of the veteran four as being part of a “perfect offseason” for the shamrocks.

Though the power forward gave Beantown strong consideration last year, he ultimately decided to stay put with the Denver Nuggets, re-upping with the franchise on a one-year, $10 million deal. While they missed out on the man once before, due to the short-term commitment of his contract, this offseason they’ll have the opportunity to get another go at nabbing him.

Now, no one shouldn’t expect the 36-year-old to revert back to his perennial All-Star days of 17+ points and 8+ rebounds registered a night from this point forward in his career.

However, what one can anticipate with his services is steady production in both the scoring and hustle department as well as veteran leadership that is always useful for a championship-aspiring team.

This season, Millsap quietly proved to still be a quality contributor in the league, posting nine points and snatching just under five boards a game on 48 percent shooting from the floor in 20.8 minutes of action.

Should Danny Ainge and co. continue on their journey to try and bolster their frontcourt whilst simultaneously refusing to splurge on upgrades, a guy like Paul Millsap seems like quite a realistic target:
