Though the Boston Celtics are just starting their first-round postseason series against the Brooklyn Nets, we at the Houdini believe it’s as good a time as any to start prepping for the offseason.

Despite making it to within the top-eight of the Eastern Conference standings by year’s end (nabbed the seventh seed with their Play-In Tournament victory over Washington), the 2020-21 campaign has proven to be one of the most underwhelming seasons for the shamrocks in recent memory, especially considering the hype they came into the year with.

With the fact that disappointment and inconsistent play has been the norm throughout the season, it’s more than likely that this same trend will flow right along through their best-of-seven bout against arguably the greatest grouping of talent ever assembled in the history of the league.

Because of this, soon enough Danny Ainge and co. will be gearing up for an offseason filled with the potential for them to make some serious changes and make some specific roster shakeups in an effort to strengthen their chances at contention in the near future.

While they may not be flush with cash heading into this summer, we at HH are still under the impression that the front office can go about and make some impactful moves by means of attacking the open market and signing available players.

In the 2021 postseason alone, there are quite a few talents slated to hit free agency this summer that could prove to be of great service and, frankly, realistic targets for the Boston Celtics.
