Boston Celtics takeaway #1: Big game Kemba shines in Play-in win

These are the games that Kemba Walker came to Boston for.

For four years at UConn, Walker proved that the moment is not too big for him, and for years he was robbed of playing in these big games while playing for the Charlotte Hornets.

Tonight Kemba Walker looked like the UConn Kemba making big shots and taking the game over for stretches, scoring 29 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Boston Celtics fans have never really had the chance to see big game Kemba Walker.

Last year, due to the knee injury he was banged up Kemba in the playoffs. If the Celtics have any shot in the playoffs they need someone besides Tatum to be a star, and tonight Kemba Walker proved that he can be that 2nd star.

Games like tonight gave us hope that we will see more UConn like performances from Kemba Walker, and I for one can’t wait to see it. Walker struggled some in the bubble playoffs, but it’s clear he was never healthy during that postseason.

While his health is a concern, the Celtics brass have managed him properly all season, and as we saw tonight Kemba Walker will be a factor in the playoffs.
