Boston Celtics trade target No. 2) Damian Lillard

Damian Lillard is quite possibly the best point guard in the entire association and easily the best player in the history of the Portland Trail Blazer’s franchise.

With this in mind, it’s easy to see why many have chastised us in the past for believing the franchise would part ways with the superstar while still being in the prime of his career.

However, when we’re talking about trading away a 25-year-old rising star in Jaylen Brown, we’re obviously aiming high and swinging for the fences in this hypothetical scenario and, should the Blazers see yet another early-round exit in the postseason, said fences could turn out to be a little closer and a bit smaller than previously considered.

Right from the jump, should Beantown ever land the likes of Lillard, they’d automatically thrust themselves back into legitimate championship contention.

As we previously stated, the 30-year-old is already considered to be one of, if not the top floor general today, and 28.9 points, 7.5 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and just shy of a steal per game on 45 percent shooting from the field and 39 percent shooting from deep.

Over the last decade or so, it’s become more and more evident that superteams reign supreme in this league, with most recent examples being the Golden State Warriors and the Brooklyn Nets.

Adding the lead-guard in Lillard to a team already rostering Jayson Tatum could prove to be lethal and if the Cs were to ever give up Brown (for the one billionth time, we’re not advocating for them to do so), getting a return package centered around him would be the ideal scenario.
