There should be no negativity surrounding the Boston Celtics following an emphatic 132-96 route against an injury-depleted Orlando Magic at the Amway Center last night.

Yet there Twitter was, being Twitter.

Unnamed, faceless accounts took to knocking Jabari Parker after he put up shots postgame and *gasp* missed a few.

And Jamal Crawford was having none of it:

Game recognizes game, and clearly, Crawford also recognizes lame. Take a shot at Parker’s post-game hustle at your own peril. J-Crossover will cross you up and put you in your place if you have the gall to knock the game of a former #2 pick who is in the midst of a career renaissance.

Parker’s Boston Celtics career has cooled off after he accumulated 19 points in his first two outings in green and white. Since then, he has scored just 14 points in five appearances. That included a 1/2 shooting night in The City Beautiful last night for two of those points.

Parker hasn’t gotten minutes because of the rise of Aaron Nesmith and Brad Stevens’ insistence on deploying Grant Williams at the 4 off the pine. He did find garbage time last night because Orlando wasn’t in the same universe as Boston in the 36-point barrage.

Clearly, the Duke product wants to make an impact on the C’s in the postseason. While he inked a multi-year pact, his 2021-22 salary isn’t guaranteed. If Danny Ainge doesn’t see a fit for him, he could be canned in the offseason.

So don’t hate on him for putting up shots, no matter how many he makes. The fact that he’s working that late at night shows the right steps are being taken. Let his play on the hardwood when he knows the cameras are rolling do the talking.

Brooklyn Nets are nightmare first-round scenario. dark. Next
