Well, the Phoenix Suns sure like their former Boston Celtics don’t they? Yet another one of the Suns bench pieces, this time E’Twaun Moore, once rocked the green and white up in Boston.
Moore was drafted by the Celtics in the second round, 55th overall, in the 2011 NBA Draft. Due to the 2011 lockout, he signed with the Italian club Benetton Treviso. Once the lockout ended, he returned to the Cs and had his “fifteen seconds of fame,” which is about how long his NBA debut lasted, in the season opener.
His best night in a Celtics uniform came at the expense of the Orlando Magic. On January 26, 2012, Moore scored 16 points on 83.3% shooting from the field, including making all four of his three point attempts. His worst night came on April 26, 2012 against the Milwaukee Bucks where he recorded his season high for turnovers in a game with six.
Moore’s Celtics career was short-lived as after his rookie year he was traded to the Houston Rockets in the three-team trade that brought Courtney Lee to Boston. He never played for the Rockets as he was waived before signing with the Orlando Magic. Moore is best known for his years in New Orleans as a member of the Pelicans.
While a member of the Boston Celtics, he was primarily the backup point guard, behind Rajon Rondo. Moore wore number 55 in Boston, the number was most recently worn by Jeff Teague.
