Boston Celtics Pick-A-Player: Atlantic Division

Boston Celtics – Evan Fournier
Now for the team that you have all been waiting for, our Boston Celtics. This is the easiest selection of the first installment of the Pick-A-Player series, its Evan Fournier.
The big trade deadline acquisition has struggled in the few games he’s played in the green and white. When he was brought in, Fournier was expected to be the spark plug off the bench and reenergize the stagnant Celtics offense. In the handful of games that he’s played, he hasn’t looked great to say the very least.
As of now, Fournier has only appeared in four games for the Celtics, averaging 11.5 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals. If he can get back to form like he was playing in Orlando, this is a grand slam of a trade. If he doesn’t pan out and Danny Ainge lets him walk after half a season, the trade is a whiff and everyone looks towards the rest of free agency.
Fournier is definitely priority number one in terms of impending free agents for the Celtics. Semi Ojeleye has yet to show significant improvements or any signs of one day being something more than a 15 minute per game player and Luke Kornet, who Daniel Theis got traded for, just flat out can’t play NBA level basketball.
If Fournier isn’t re-signed or at least included in a sign and trade then this year’s deadline will be looked at with confusion and the shaking of heads at to what the front office was thinking.
