The Boston Celtics find themselves catching fire as of late, rattling off four-straight wins, and are now victors of six of their last seven outings.

Now, looking ahead to their immediate future, with upcoming matchups against the Anthony Davis/ LeBron James-less Los Angeles Lakers, the similarly underwhelming Golden State Warriors, and the recently reeling Chicago Bulls, stretching their win-streak to seven is certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

Because of all this, it’s highly likely that, during these final 17 games of the regular season, the fifth-seeded Cs could make some strides up the standings to potentially secure a top-3 spot (most likely, third at best) heading into the postseason.

However, while there’s still some fight left in this team for the 2020-21 campaign, it’s never too early to start thinking about the offseason and planning out steps to potentially take.

The first offseason domino to fall will be the NBA Draft, which is scheduled for July 29th.

Though we’re still a ways away, media outlets have already gone about mapping out potential outcomes of the illustrious event, pushing out the likes of big boards and mock drafts for our entertainment.

In a recent mock published by Bleacher Report, Boston was found slotted in at the 17th overall pick where they were seen nabbing Stanford one-and-done small forward, Ziaire Williams.

B/R’s latest mock has the Boston Celtics selecting Ziaire Williams at 17th overall

During his freshman season with the Cardinals, the 19-year-old posted averages of 10.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.

Drawing comparisons to Atlanta Hawks sophomore standout, De’Andre Hunter, despite Williams’ struggles during his lone collegiate campaign, many scouts and media analysts find themselves enamored with his impressive length (6-8 with a 7-0 wingspan) and versatility, with some going as far as to suggest he could find himself landing within the top-12 of this year’s draft.

To some, the idea of the Boston Celtics drafting yet another wing is a bit irritating — after all, they’ve gone this route for two consecutive years, and, to this point, none of them have panned out in comparison to where they were selected.

That said, one could certainly argue that, though Boston already has the second-best wing duo in the entire association in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the depth behind them could stand for some bolstering.

In theory, the draft would be a cheap and easy way to go about addressing this weakness within the rotation.

What say you Cs fans, would you be up for the shamrocks bringing on the likes of Ziaire Williams?!
