Its finally arrived Boston Celtics fans — the infamous NBA trade deadline.

After months of speculation as to what Danny Ainge and co. plan on doing on the open market, today’s the day that we find out what the front office’s vision is for this team in 2021.

To some, a big move must be made in order to save the C’s season while others are under the impression that acquisitions for mere role players would be the best course of action.

For us at the Houdini and, frankly, the majority of true fans of the franchise, the magnitude of a trade is not what’s important — it’s the fit of the asset acquired that is clearly what matters most.

There are a few last-minute trade targets the Boston Celtics should consider

Now, with the hours dwindling down towards the 3 PM (ET) cut-off, should the Boston Celtics wish to make a move for one of the bigger name players listed on the market such as Aaron Gordon, Nikola Vucevic, and John Collins they’ll likely want to act fast.

However, should they wish to be more patient and take their time scouring the trade circuit for low-key steals, we at HH believe there are 3 great last-second options Ainge and co. should strongly consider pursuing:

Boston Celtics target No. 1) Evan Fournier

Recently, the majority of trade buzz pertaining to the Boston Celtics has been in connection to potential deals being made with the Orlando Magic. Typically, these rumors are in regard to the idea of Aaron Gordon heading to Massachusetts but, today, we discuss the power forward’s teammate, Evan Fournier, as a low-key great snag at the deadline.

In the final year of his contract, the 28-year-old sharpshooter is finding himself having a career year with the Magic. Through 25 games played, Fournier is posting impressive per-game averages of 19.6 points, 3.7 assists, and three rebounds a game on 46 percent shooting from the floor and 39 percent shooting from deep.

This coy 3-point shooting team that ranks 21st in the league in attempts from long range could only stand to benefit from his highly-touted shooting stroke, while his lacking need for touches to make an impact would work wonders when running alongside ball-dominating players such as Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kemba Walker.
