Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has begun trending recently because of the comments he made to NBC Sports Bay Area. Green stated, “I think I’m the best defender to ever play in the NBA. I stand by that, I’d put myself up against anyone.” This comment caught the eye of former Boston Celtics guard Tony Allen.

Allen is widely regarded as one of the best defensive guards of the recent generation. He was a first-round draft pick for the Boston Celtics back in 2004 and played his first six seasons wearing the green and white. He was also a member of the 2008 team that won the NBA Finals.

Allen responded to Green’s comments on Twitter saying “big cap!!! Who stamped you? Who you clamp?!”

As a member of six all-defensive teams, the “Grindfather” knows a thing or two about being the best of the best in terms of defense.

Green lashed back at Allen on Twitter, responding to him by saying, “I was waiting on you to stamp me Big homie, but your stamp book started running low in 2015 when we used you against your team on the way to my 1ST championship.”

Draymond is quite the defensive force, however. He’s a former Defensive Player of the Year, a five-time member of an NBA All-Defensive team, a two-time member of an All NBA team, a three-time All-Star, and a three-time NBA Champion with the Golden State Warriors.

Allen seemingly wrapped up their beef with yet another shot at Green saying, “Like yo stamp book now? Because it’s 4 on 5 out there right now my boy! #CallKlay”

This little Twitter interaction is definitely interesting and could maybe even lead to a one-on-one opportunity once the season is over to see who truly is the better defender. Green commented on the whole interaction saying, “Ain’t no beef, we talking about basketball. That’s where y’all get it twisted.”
