Boston Celtics draft target #3: Corey Kispert

Corey Kispert is a cog in one of the smoothest machines in college basketball. The Gonzaga Bulldogs are currently ranked #1 in the country due to a flawless regular-season record that saw no one but West Virginia even able to lose by single digits.

Kispert is certainly a key cog in the Zags offense, scoring 19 points per game this past season while collecting four boards per game. Where the senior shines is in his efficiency: the Washington native is currently slashing 55/44/89, making him a mere percentage point off from being in what has essentially been accepted as an elite marksmen club.

The Boston Celtics could certainly use his scoring prowess off the pine, and his sneaky defense would also be an asset to a team looking to build around two-way stars in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Kispert would be an ideal spot-up 3-point shooter to open up the floor for the Cs stars.

A March Madness disappointment seems like the only possible way Kispert could fall in the lottery, but if the Zags are exposed by a Power 5 team, scouts may get cold feet on the Mid-Major star.

Boston Celtics draft target #4: Brandon Boston Jr.

I mean…come on.

Brandon Boston Jr. belongs in Beantown (say that 10x fast) based on name alone, but his game would compliment the young legs of the Cs rotation well. Boston is a superior athlete who has not proven to be a superior player so far in the SEC.

Kentucky was one of the great disappointments in college basketball in 2021 and Boston’s struggles played a contributing role. He may have already caused himself to slip out of the lottery following an unfathomable losing season in Lexington.

If he hasn’t Cs fans should hope that scouts are (egregiously) holding those struggles against him, ignoring the immense potential he possesses in his shot and in running the floor.
