Boston Celtics: 2 trades to pursue during Houston Rockets’ ‘fire sale’

After finding two of their franchise’s players representing the green and white in this year’s All-Star game, Boston Celtics fans now find themselves looking forward to this final 36 game slate of the regular season that is scheduled to begin March 11th against the Brooklyn Nets.

Though their first half of the season may have been one to forget, the shamrocks have between now and May 16th to get back on track and once again thrust themselves into the conversation of being one of the league’s elite.

However, in order to do this, many are under the impression that Boston needs to make some moves to better fill out their roster — this mindset is also shared by General Manager and President of Basketball Operations, Danny Ainge.

Having publicly stated this team is not good enough to contend for a championship, the idea is that the front office will find themselves quite busy in the coming weeks, what with the fact that we now find ourselves in the midst of both trade and buyout season.

In regard to trades, the key for Ainge will be to scour the market in search of players that they believe could seriously help benefit their weaknesses within the rotation and, in turn, finding teams willing to engage in talks.

One specific team that could check both of these aforementioned boxes is the Houston Rockets.

Since the departure of James Harden earlier this season, the Rockets have been a team in a complete free fall.

Boasting the league’s third-worst record of 11-23 whilst also having no ownership of their upcoming 2021 first-round selection (controlled by the OKC Thunder), it’s clear that this once promising franchise now finds itself in uncharted territory.

Because of this, many executives believe they could soon be holding their own version of a ‘fire sale’, with one assistant general manager going as far as to say “Houston’s gonna burn the house down.”
