Boston Celtics: 3 former All-Star centers Cs could pursue

Boston Celtics center option #3: Karl-Anthony Towns
Okay, okay, okay hang on before you start tearing me apart, hear me out. Karl-Anthony Towns is on an absolutely terrible–and I really can’t emphasize that enough–team that has no future. The Minnesota Timberwolves won’t be able to build around him and his contract because nobody wants to go somewhere that they don’t think they can win, and they won’t have the money to overpay free agents to sign.
I think that this deal is a high-risk high-reward type of trade as it will be just as big as the Pierce, Garnett, Terry trade with the Brooklyn Nets. If the Celtics can manage to somehow pull this deal off and keep Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, whew that’s your Eastern Conference champion every year for the next decade.
Karl-Anthony Towns would fit perfectly with what the team is trying to do. His ability to shoot the 3-ball is what would put the team over the top. Paired with his abilities in the post, KAT is an absolute monster on the court. If you have the opportunity to trade for a top-five, arguably top-three player at his position, why wouldn’t you make that move?
Now, this deal would involve trading away Kemba Walker, young players, and some picks, but if it were to happen, talk about a blockbuster trade. This move would absolutely make the Celtics one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference and they’ll be fighting for championships every year for a long time with that young corps.
