Boston Celtics: The perfect 3-step plan to getting Cs season back on track
Boston Celtics fans everywhere agree…
It’s time for the Boston Celtics to make some moves.
The Boston Celtics have now fallen under .500 on the season, after a crushing loss at the hands of a Luka Doncic game-winner. The last 5 minutes of that game was the most effort I had seen the Cs put in a fourth-quarter all year. They had energy, they were moving the ball, they stormed back from down 12 to take a lead with 37 seconds left.
Then Luka-Magic struck.
Luka hit a dagger, a 30+ foot three-pointer, double contested, with 0.1 seconds left on the clock. Not nearly enough time for the Cs to get off a game-tying three. It was truly a shot to the heart, it felt like the Celtics deserved that one, something I haven’t said this year.
Then, there was last night’s 127-112 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. The less said about that Kemba Walker-less effort–one where both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown struggled from the field–the better.
The Cs are now a disappointing 15-17 on the season, the first time they have been below .500 (outside of the first 10 games) since the 2014-15 season. It is even more disheartening when you consider they have made three out of the last four Eastern Conference finals. This team has championship aspirations and as of right now those chances are rapidly slipping away.
Needless to say, this team needs changes, and preferably ASAP. As mentioned in previous articles, these changes can come in numerous ways. Whether this be using both of the trade exceptions, signing some veteran free agents, or making a blockbuster trade.
The Celtics are an incomplete team with many issues from top to bottom. One of the worst benches in the entire NBA if not the worst. They are getting lackluster play from their starting point guard. They have undersized centers that get torn apart by the league’s top bigs. The list truly goes on and on, with no end in sight.
Unless…Boston goes through with this 4-step plan to launch them back into contention, to again be listed with the NBA’s top teams.
