Boston Celtics TPE target No. 3) Lauri Markkanen

A player we here at Hardwood Houdini discuss the Boston Celtics trading for quite often, Lauri Markkanen of course finds his way onto a list discussing Chicago Bulls TPE targets to monitor.

Deemed by co-Houdini, Andrew Hughes, as the “best traditional power forward left in the league”, the 24-year-old and the Bulls franchise failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension earlier in the season and, now, finds himself constantly popping up in the trade-rumor mil.

Should these rumors become more than such, the Celtics should easily hop in on the festivities, as he’d be an unbelievable addition to the team’s lackadaisical frontcourt while also fitting into the team’s youthful core alongside 23-year-old Jayson Tatum and 24-year-old Jaylen Brown.

The 7-foot Finnish-born baller is finding himself posting impressive early-season averages of 18.6 points and 6.6 rebounds on 48 percent shooting from the floor and 37 percent shooting from deep.

An incredibly skilled dual-threat scorer with solid defensive chops and impressive upside, Markkanen has yet to convince Chicago that he should be seen as a long-term staple for the franchise.

With their need for a legitimate four, perhaps he can do so with the Boston Celtics.

Stay on the lookout to see how things progress between Markkanen and new Bulls General Manager Marc Eversley, who could look to replicate what he had a hand in doing with the Denver Nuggets during his time spent there (i.e. building through the draft on his terms).
