Utah has jumped out to the third-best record in the NBA behind the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers. It is unlikely they would be looking to make an earth-shattering deal involving Kemba Walker right now, which would likely have to include either Mike Conley or Rudy Gobert (or more likely both).

That said, things change quickly. Shaquille O’Neal’s recent on-air jab at Donovan Mitchell could add more fuel to an already combustible locker-room, which reportedly had plenty of drama just last year:

"“Right now we’re good. We’re going out there ready to hoop,” Mitchell said. “And I think the biggest thing that kind of sucked was that it took away from the guys on the team, took away from what the guys on the team were trying to do and I really wish that as going forward. “I think that’ll be really a part of the focus, is just us gelling as a team because obviously, Rudy and I had COVID and whatever happened, happened, but now we’re ready to hoop and focused on the team as a whole because we’re not really trying to keep taking attention away from what everybody’s got going on."

A championship is the only thing likely to keep this duo together in Utah for the long-haul, but if the team doesn’t sustain this torrid pace to begin the 2020-21 campaign, perhaps Danny Ainge could slither into the picture and offer Utah a deal they can’t refuse.
