Boston Celtics target No. 2) Zach LaVine

In our introduction, I brought up how my co-expert Andrew recently wrote a piece discussing trades in which the Boston Celtics could make to try and combat the star power now found in Brooklyn.

I also mentioned that the biggest trade in his piece involved Kemba Walker being shipped out of Beantown. In return, the proposed deal saw Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine coming to the Celtics which, all things considered, is quite a nice scenario if you ask me.

The reasoning for why the seventh-year pro would be an optimal target in exchange for Boston’s star can partially be summed up in Andrew’s aforementioned piece, where he states:

"…it is fair to say that Zach LaVine has surpassed Kemba Walker in terms of production on the court. LaVine is scoring 27 points (on 50/39/86 splits) while collecting five assists and five rebounds, which are benchmarks Walker has never reached."

The other two reasons as to why we see this swap as one of the best returns for Kemba is that, not only does he better fit Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown’s timeline (25-years-old), but he also has the all-around skillset that could make this current Celtics core that much more menacing, even when going up against a similarly skilled Brooklyn squad.
